Hurricane Sandy took down BuzzFeed, The Huffington Post, Mediaite and Gawker on Monday night as the storm ripped through New York City.
Datagram — the Internet service provider these media groups use to host their websites — was flooded, causing the outage, an official told BuzzFeed last night.
"Basement flooded, fuel pump off line — we got people working on it now. 5 feet of water now,” the official wrote, according to BuzzFeed's Tumblr. Most deserving of permanent drowning is Mediaite, a site which employs unemployable idiots as media critics. That site must hire someone to turn on the television and change channels for their "colmunists;" they couldn't hire anyone willing to feed and disinfect their commenters.
The Huffington Post and Buzzfeed are worthless in large part (and not worth shovelling through to find anything worth reading), only Gawker is occassionally amusing. Politicho combines the worst of all four sites (except for Mediaite's illiteracy) and is worse because it is taken seriously by people who also shouldn't be taken seriously.
