Random Links of Kindness

Unfortunately, I was unable to participate in Cheney Fools Day on April 1st. Jim Capozzola exemplified the spirit of the day with his rendition of Lynne Cheney's latter-day McGuffey's Reader For Wingnuts.

Meanwhile, Mac Diva has comprehensive coverage of the ordeal of Private Jessica Lynch and the incompetent and irresponsible reporting on the subject. I caught Katie Couric's interview of Lynch's father on the Today program. Not Couric's finest moment. Couric was condescending, telling the man she understood he was "dancin' and hollerin' and runnin' through the town" (a paraphrase) when he received the good news. She also complained (although not in a hostile way) that Mr. Lynch was not smiling during the interview, and referred to Private Lynch as "Jessie."

And Talk Left links to the annual U.S. News and World Report rankings of American law schools. If the Top Ten was re-ranked according to best educational value per tuition dollar, I'd bet the ranking would be exactly the reverse. Of course, I could be biased.
