Carl Limburger and His Imaginary NewsMax Staff are pissed at Bill Frist for failing to make an ass out of himself. Limburger quotes Frist:

"Well, you know, I'm not going to say that it's racially motivated. I do think it is 100 percent politically motivated. It's true that if confirmed, Miguel Estrada would be the first Hispanic member of this court. But there's no question there's a double standard, a double standard being applied to this outstanding Hispanic individual."

Limburger then parses Frist's incoherent statement:

Frist's reluctance to attribute racial bias to Estrada's opponents stands in marked contrast to the conduct of prominent Democrats, who wasted no time playing the race card during the Trent Lott fiasco in December.

Let see: On one the hand, Lott praises a racist politician for running on a segregationist platform. On the other, Democrats oppose a judicial nominee based on his lack of record and refusal to answer relevant questions. That is a marked contrast.
