Kaus Career Suicide Watch, Day 6

Yes, the New York Times has published more about the Augusta National Golf Club story than I care to read about. The nice thing is, though, the Times literally has hundreds of other articles I can read instead. In the case of Midget Mickey Kaus, his entire output for days on end is the Times' Augusta coverage. His obsession with Howell Raines is pathological, and pathetic. A Fray contributor sums it up nicely:

And when I think about Mickey's psychological well-being, the first words that come to mind are: "Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder"

All the classic signs are present. He's utterly fixated on bashing the New York Times over and over again, to the point where the repetitive behavior has begun to alienate his readers. He will twist completely unrelated subjects back to the topic of the New York Times. When an important news item occurs, Mickey devotes his bandwidth to critiquing the Times' coverage of the event instead of offering any shreds of insight on the news itself.

We also see clear signs of denial and transference... as he has now launched a long and tiresome thread denouncing the NYT for being obsessed with criticizing the all-male membership policy at Augusta, while neglecting to mention that the Times would have to lead with Augusta stories for a month in order to match the number of pieces Kaus himself has written criticizing the editors of the Times.

It's time to stop the madness, Mickey. Pop some prozac... self-medicate with cannabinoids... pay some high-priced shrink $300 an hour to talk about your sexual hang-ups... whatever. Just make sure that one way or another, you seek help.

My first words would be "Chronic Masturbator," but six of one, half dozen of the other.
