Well, as long as Pinch (Punch?, Munch?, Bunch?, Crunch?) Sulzberger thinks he's not talking about the NYT, he's probably okay, because the nation's "paper of record" is not about to admit an error as enormous as hiring a tiresome little scold such as Doubthat, is it?

I mean, shit, the paper's never apologized for hiring Bloody Bill Kristol, or, for that matter, Bimbo Bobo Brooks, either, has it?

"... long enough time horizon...." Gawud damn, this boy's an idiot and a mangler of the language. And that means he's got a sinecure for life at the Times.

Also: while the NYT got rid of the Queen of All Iraq, her fellow war-cheerleader Michael R. Gordon is still there.

Bill Kristol holds the crown as the stupidest man ever to land a regular gig at the Times. Brooks has worked hard for the silver medal, but I don't see how it's humanly possible for him to catch up. He'd better look to his laurels, though (such as they are), because notwithstanding Bobo's head start, Young Master Douthat has been steadily closing the gap.
