Reason's martyrdom has been waylaid by fate--the Terminator-esque attack on a Dallas police headquarters. People might not want to hear that death threats are just boyish hijinks right now.
Let's talk about the disingenuous naivety of the Reason columnist and the mouthbreathers who wrote the threats. Every one of them seems to take Ulbricht at his word that he was just a poor boy, trying to give the world a little more freedom, and never, ever, could have imagined that people would use his little creation for such nefarious ends. He knew exactly what he was doing, and he did it to make a buttload of money. Of course, to the Reasonoids, that is the highest calling of all, so his martyrdom is unquestionable.
I wonder how many of the idiots threatening the judge over "FREEDUMB!!" would do the same if Ulbricht had been black and Silk Road was just the name of a street in a bad neighborhood.
