MR. ROMNEY: Bob, I’m pleased that I’ve balanced budgets. I was in the world of business for 25 years. If you didn’t balance your budget, you went out of business. I went to the Olympics that was out of balance, and we got it on balance and made a success there.
Willard Romney is going to balance the federal budget like he got the Olympics on balance -- like Kristi Yamaguchi with Ménière's disease:
For the past few years, ...private and public interests have siphoned an estimated $1.5 billion out of the U.S., Treasury, all in the name of those same Olympics. Two months before the Games, Utah has already walked away with the gold while setting records in four categories:
Total federal handouts: The $1.5 billion in taxpayer dollars that Congress is pouring into Utah is 1.5 times the amount spent by lawmakers to support all seven Olympic Games held in the U.S.since 1904—combined. In inflation-adjusted dollars.

This is another of those mysteriously absent beatings that Mitt should be taking.
Well, since government can't really create jobs, all those subsidies really can't bail out an Olympics either, can it?

I'm sure, on the right side of the aisle in the vaudeville theater, there are people who think the Rmoneybot should be applauded for having the imagination to go to the Bushies for the money, but, c'mon, Repug grifters are always willing to tilt the table for each other.
What they aren't willing to do--because Rmoney is one of them--is admit that what got the 2002 winter Olympics out of deep doo-doo (and would probably have cost Utah taxpayers plenty) was a federal gummint handout, precisely the sort of thing they've been otherwise screaming about for years and years.
Maybe his accounting advisor is Robert Vesco.
