In my last post, I noted how my searches for “Kyle Wood” on HRC & GLAAD’s website came up empty.
During my afternoon blog read, I discovered that Ace was on this story as was Breitbart.
Can someone please explain why HRC castigated Sarah Palin for her silence when her daughter used the word “faggot”, but can’t get around to covering a story about a gay Republican who had been beaten and hospitalized after someone spray-painted “faggot” on his car?Well, can you? Huh? Can you? Can you?
Does this explain it?
In an interview this afternoon with Madison Police detectives, the victim [sic] in this case recanted his earlier statements in regards to this crime. This crime, alleged to have occurred on High Street in the South Police District, will be cleared as "Unfounded" for case reporting purposes. Once follow up investigation is completed, MPD's case file will be reviewed with Dane County District Attorney's Office. The "Patriot's" first clue as to the reasons for the lack of "coverage" should have been the fact that Mr. Wood's story was publicized by the Daily Choler, the diseased organ of homophobic thug Tucker Carlson. Tucker once bragged about assaulting a man he percieved to be gay, "I went back with someone I knew and grabbed the guy. ... Hit him against the stall with his head, actually!" Tucker did us a favor, actually, by republishing this quote (no link to the homophobic thug) before his fantasy crumbled:
“I will not be bullied, intimidated or threatened into abandoning my moral values,” Wood told TheDC late Wednesday.True enough. Wood abandoned his moral values after a little police questioning.
The "Patriot" might do well to recognize that something is not true simply because he wants it to be.
Update (11/1): Here's another wingnut's repetition of the Daily Choler story, compete with an interview of Wood and a photograph of facial wounds more superficial than Mitt Romney's foreign policy.
