Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Meegan McArdle thinks health care reform is all about her:

Obviously, yes, I was upset yesterday. I'm glad that this could bring so much joy to peoples' hearts, and of course to know that for many people, the happiest part of passing health care reform seems to have been knowing that it made people like me unhappy.

That's just a side effect. How much a policy upsets Meegan is only a measure of the policy's virtue, not an independent source of euphoria.

On the other hand, much joy is derived from the fact that HCR pisses off Instacracker and the Cornerites.
